David Olarte

Director at Stilo Dance Company

Originally from Greenwood, Indiana David was dancing salsa and performing for most of his adult life. He moved to Phoenix in 2007 and started Stilo Dance Company in 2008. At the beginning the Stilo group was comprised of four dancers and at the end of 2008 the number of dancers has doubled. Their first recognition on the salsa scene was received after taking the 5th place in the World Latin Cup in Las Vegas in 2011. Two years later in 2013 Stilo took the 3rd place in the World Latin Cup in Miami, further establishing their reputation as experienced salsa dancers. Now David Olarte teaches salsa at Arizona State University and he also has public classes. His public lessons are on a drop-in basis, no registration is required.

Erica Stilo dance company

Erica Rodrigez

Co-director of Stilo Dance Company.

Erica is one of the dancers who have been with the Stilo Dance Company from the very beginning. Originally Erica is from Phoenix, Arizona. She is the oldest of her two siblings (two brothers). Erica has two wonderful and caring parents who always have been there for her. She loves seafood, and stilettos is her favorite footwear. By profession she is a registered nurse and she has been working in a hospital for about the same time she has been with the Stilo group. Erica has been dancing salsa for about 14 years and when she is not in the hospital taking care of people, she is on the dance floor polishing her moves and helping new salsa dancers to discover their dance talents.
